Finally! Finally the painting is done….the new floor is in…and the house looks really nice! Our painter finished the trim Friday…he did a beautiful job!!! The walls are a warm beige with the trim a creamy white…pretty plain, but perfect for showing artwork!…(smile!) …the overall effect is very calming with the trim adding a little interest…nice!
I checked back on my blog…we pulled a lot of the house apart in March of this year….and it is the end of July now (5 long months!!)…uhhh, well it took a while to find the painter!! The flooring required we move almost everything, but some things could just be conveniently moved from one side of the room to the other…but the painting required we move absolutely EVERYTHING!!!!! …and now it feels so great to be returning our furniture…AND MY STUDIO!!….to it’s rightful place!!! Of course, along the way we have made some changes…a friend told us that with projects like this…well, they always seem to lead to more projects/changes!…and they were definitely right!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like my little rose cabinet (i painted roses on it years ago and kept my crystal in it)…that went to our granddaughter. A couple large cabinets went to my daughter…fit perfectly in a corner in her kitchen. Our rather huge table for holding electronics in our tv room is out…we put a sweet little (what else?) cabinet in its stead. Decided also to get new bedroom furniture for us…
This may seem strange, but Dave gave me the living room for my studio last year…well, we never did want to fill up our living room with a lot of furniture for some reason…and the room we had enclosed when the house was being built, the one I originally called my studio was just not big enough for everything I have to create with…so he very kindly said that I could use the living room also…cooooollllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a neat hubby!!! It’s the perfect arrangement for me!! …lots of light, a great flow to the rooms, and it fits me and my stuff!
We just brought our furniture back into the house today with the help of our kids…and finally it is beginning to look like home again!!! …what a great feeling!!
Now, we’d like to have a patio cover built onto the back of our home…that is likely the next project… and upholstering a window seat that we have in our breakfast nook…and oh!…a new window treatment in the master bedroom…and, and, and…yes, that friend was right!!!!…lots of plans for the future!!
